History of Bowling
Let's remember yesterday, even if we have to start today!
10/16/2019 0 Comments Hometown HistoryBertrand Bowling Lanes hosted a professional bowling association tour stop from 1964-1985. Each year of the event a banner was created recognizing the previous year's champion and displayed during the event. Recently George Lawrence dug these out and gave them to Tom Bertrand who has taken on the role of bowling historian for the Greater Lake County Bowling Association. Tom is provided an opportunity to share our sports history with the GLCUSBC board and association membership who attend the preseason workshop and annual meeting.
It was decided these banners would be shared with past champions and the opportunity to do this happened recently at Beverly Lanes on a Monday night while the former two-time champion of that event is still an active bowler in his family center.
